Prime Collaboration Deployment 8.6.2 to 10.5 migration failing

Hi All,

Trying to perform a CUCM cluster migration from MCS hardware with the following software installed:

admin:show version active
Active Master Version: 8.6.2.20000-2
Active Version Installed Software Options:
ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop
dp-ffr.3-1-9.GB.cop
cm-locale-en_GB-8.0.3.2000-1.cop
ciscocm.dst-updater.2010o-1.el4.8.0.3.cop
cmterm-devicepack8.0.3.22023-1.cop

Migrating to 10.5.1.10000-7

When I run the migration it fails after around 1 hour with the following error in the logs:

It should be a direct upgrade path for these versions so not sure whats causing the failure.

Has anyone seen this before or even better has anyone done a successful migration using this PCD software?

Just wondering whether to persevere or give up now and do the traditional manual upgrade.

The only thing that may be of note is that we are using the UK Dial plan macro, I know that this can cause issues but I was hoping that this wouldn't be the case.

Thanks in Advance

Lee

Hi Lee,

Seems that platformconfig cop file is not getting installed on PUB which is stopping the discovery process.

Just login through GUI of PUB under OS Administration---Software Upgrades and check the status whether operation is hanged.

regds,

aman

Hi Aman,

Thanks for the reply. The cop file is being installed on the source pub.

It seems to be failing when it tries to create the platformconfig.xml file for the destination pub.

see the following lines from the logs.

X.X.X.X is source pub ip

Y.Y.Y.Y is dest pub ip

Not sure why the platformconfigString is Null - assuming it gets this from the details entered into PCD.

Thanks

Lee.

Hi Lee,

Not sure what could be the reason.

I suggest reading this discussion where in TAC case was opened if UK Dial Plan is configured.

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12334191/upgrade-cucm-1051-fails

regds,

aman

Thanks Aman, its with the Cisco TAC now, will update when I get a resolution.

Cheers

Lee.

Hi,

I recently had the same problem, and it seems that PCD would only migrate to 10.0, it won´t do for 10.5

Try that instead

Issue was resolved.

The file name of the ISO was not recognised. We used the filename it inherited from the PUT tool download i.e

UCAPPS-SW-10.X-K9 Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_10.5.1.10000-7.sgn.iso

Had to rename the file to:

Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_10.5.1.10000-7.sgn.iso

PCD worked like a charm after that.

Also used it for patching up to the latest SR, installing locales, uk dial plan, timezone fixes etc.

Thanks

Lee.

thanks for update[+5]

regds,
