4.0.5 and UM
We have over 160 PDL and so am concern with port usage despite the fact of 72 ports license.
If a user sends a VM to a Unity PDL of say 40 users...so only one port for the sender and no ports for the broadcast to the 40 users right?
Also when all 40 users simultaneously call in then we should encourage them to use Outlook rather than call in right?
Thx

A port is in use when someone dials in to Unity to check or send messages and when Unity dials out for MWI, voicemail notification, etc. In your example, only 1 port would be used when the subscriber dials in to send the message. If all 40 users call in to check their messages at the same time, 40 ports would be in use. Encouraging users to use Outlook would certainly reduce your port usage in this case. Hope this helps.

Do you know if any ports are used to broadcast to the 40 users?
Thx

No, only if/when the users call in to Unity to retrieve the message.
