Replacement of VG310

I would like to clarify the procedure for replacing VG310. Please let me know if am missing anything from the below procedure.

To configure the new gateway's IP address, we must first connect with it via the console port. Once we've gained network access to the gateway, we'll need to copy existing configuration from old gateway by entering the command "terminal length 0" and "show run" in existing gateway.

And then is there any thing else that needs to be modified/removed from the existing running configuration before we enter it in to new gateway ?

And after we enter the running config we need to enter the write memory in the new gateway.

And from CUCM administration page > device > gateway > find. Then select gateway, change mac address ( 10 digits ) of the old device with the new one.

Are you replacing the VG310 with another VG310, or with a different model? If you’re replacing it with the same model, your steps look fine. However, if you’re moving to a VG410, note that the VG410 uses IOS XE, while the VG310 was on IOS. This means some commands might give you errors.

Thank you for responding Nithin. Yes, replacing the VG310 with another VG310.

I'd like to ensure that no changes are required to the existing running configuration that I'll paste into the new gateway, right?

No changes on the VG configuration required if it’s the exact same.
