Room Booking Navigator with on-prem devices and TMS, TMSXE and CMS

Hi everyone, I have a scenario hopefully someone can help.

unfortunately TAC aren't able to provide solution for this yet.

We have Webex devices registered on-prem (CUCM), with CMS and TMS/TMSXE with Exchange for scheduling

all working perfectly.

now we're trying to add Room Booking navigators for the rooms, as per the document, Room Navigators can be registered to cloud devices or Webex Edge devices, our devices are on-prem so we only have the second option which is Webex Edge for device

but the problem with Room Navigator is that it doesn't support TMS and require Hybrid Calendar, if we enabled Hybrid Calendar we will lose TMS and CMS.

also we can't have both TMS along with Hybrid Calendar.

any idea or workaround to have Room Booking Navigator running while endpoints on-prem registered (with or without Webex Edge for Device) and TMS/TMSXE in use?

As Exchange is used for both TMS/TMSXE and Hybrid Calendar why would it not work to have both enabled?

it's stated in this document under the Limitation section:

  • Enabling Hybrid Calendar on a device linked via Webex Edge for Devices disables TMS calendar on that device, as only one calendar source is supported at a time.

it's a limitation with Webex Edge for Devices, and Cisco Navigators require the end-points to be either cloud or Webex Edge enabled.

That note mentions TMS calendar, are you sure that this is the same as you use as you stated in your original post that you use Exchange calendar with TMS/TMSXE?

we're using Exchange calendar with TMS/TMSXE.

but Navigators require Hybrid Calendar, and if we switched to Hybrid Calendar with Exchange then we will lose CMS

Please help me to understand this, if TMS/TMSXE uses the room account in Exchange to store calendar entries and Hybrid Calendar also uses the same account in Exchange as the calendar why would it not work? Both of them would use the same calendar source and the notes states that you can not have different sources. That would not apply to your described setup AFAIKT.

Did it work with you ya Hussein?

@HusseinLTD  I suggest to turn the room navigator to stand-alone device and with API communication with third party booking server such as App Space, you can make it as a normal booking panel screen.

https://help.webex.com/en-us/article/iq6aw6/Room-Navigator-as-a-standalone-device

from the App Space, you will have integration with Exchange, so once you book the meeting from Outlook using TMSXE the meeting details will be received on TMS and in the same time on the room navigator.
