To Upgrade cisco Unity Server to Cisco Unity Connection 8.5

Dear Experts;

We are going to upgarde our old Cisco unity Server to Unity Connection 8.5 with VMWARE.

Please advice me what things i need to take care for this and the direct upgrade is possibel or not?
