Unable to Direct Upgrade CUCM 14 to CUCM 15

Current Version: CUCM 14.0.1.12900-161
Trying to upgrade to: CUCM 15.0.1.13901-2 and also tried CUCM 15.0.1.10000-32

I am trying to upgrade CUCM 14 to CUCM 15, every time I try the update it fails with "/usr/local/platform/conf/platformConfig.xml field validation failed during a system upgrade" and "System info not updated by InstallWizard on new partition(1)".

I have tried everything I can find online and no matter what I try I can't get this thing to update. The ESXi and VM are both updated to what the matrix says and the VM meets the required specs. I have ran the pre-upgrade COP file and have 0 fails. I have tried different SFTP programs, tried updating via CLI and CUCM OS GUI, tried putting the .iso in the VM's datastore and every time I get the above error. If I try back to back upgrades without restarting the CUCM, I get a "Unknown error while accessing file" but it appears that's a bug.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to try/do? I am currently trying to get my hands on a bootable ISO and just rebuild using the provided OVA from Cisco but in the mean time I want to try and get this working without rebuilding.

Hi @colby11, without seeing the install log details to figure out what could possibly be going on - you may just want to double check this known bug which can fail with those exact errors you mention:

Upgrade Fails when admin password length is > 31 chars and/or has %

@Brad Magnani Thank you so much!! Changed the password to match those parameters listed in that bug and was able to successfully upgrade!
