Hello,
Since g711 alaw is not supported codec ( correct me if I am wrong) in unity ,is g729 is the only supported codec for international unity deployments.
Thanks in advance.

g.711 alaw is not supported but that doesn't mean you have to use g.729 if you are outside of North America. g.711 ulaw is just the codec the IP leg of the call is in. What you get off the PSTN can be g.711 alaw and when the router packetizes the voice it can do so as g.711 ulaw -- just was it would packetize the g.711 alaw to g.729. Make sense?
Another example would be a call from San Jose to London over the Cisco IP network. I can call somebody in the office in London and I don't need a transcoder because g.711 ulaw is codec we use on the IP side.
Thanks,
Keith

But, what - if there is an IP-Phone which supports only a-Law???
How could this phone connect to the Unity-Server???
