The customer setup is a Unity voicemail server 4.0(4) with CallManager 4.1(3).
The customer wish to have Unity Auto Attendant for the office main line.
When it is after office hours, all incoming calls will get an after office hours message, Unity is able to achieve this by setting weekday schedule for that voicemail box.
However, the customer's requirement is to have the option of allowing the external party caller to leave message,
then key in the 4 digit extension to reach the user's extension if the caller knows the user' extension.
We are able to configure the voicemail account to allow the caller to leave message, however, we do not know
how to configure the system such that allow the caller to leave message, then key in 4 digit extension to
reach internal phone extension.
Also, there are quite a few default prompts when the user is navigating thru' the voicemail account,
it is not so straight-forward to route the call to the Unity main menu, where we could dial the
internal phone extension to get the call transferred to that extension.
I know we will need to use call handler to achieve the desired function as stated above,
I wish to seek your advice on how best to achieve the above :- allow to leave voicemail, then press
some keys to transfer the caller to Unity main menu where he can key in 4 digit
extension to have call transferred to that extension.

For either a subscriber or callhandler, click on Messages on the left pane. There is an option for After message action. If you chose Send Caller to Callhandler, you will then get a choice of callhandlers, and how you want transferred - Send to greeting or Attempt Transfer. You should select Send to greeting for Opening Greeting as that will prompt the callers to dial the extension.

If you are using Unity Express, it does not use messaging servers. If you are using the full blown Unity, you must use either Exchange or Notes as your backend for voicemail messages.
CallManager express also has a stripped down version of AA.
