We have a Unity 403 with exchange2003 UM system. We reboot and the Unity__servername account keeps disappearing, AVCSMGR then fails to log and Unity does'nt start. Please advise - urgent.

Do you mean that the Unity_ is being deleted from AD? Check the Subscriber table in UnityDb for Unity_. The account is recreated if it is not there when Cisco Unity reboots.

Hin,

the mapi profile does not exist on the unity box in hkey_current_user\sw\micr\etc , shall we try and create it manually?

It won't be under hkey_current_user unless you are logged in with the account AvCsMrg is running as and Unity will automatically create it if it isn't there.

Unity doesn't have permissions to delete the account if you set things with the permissions wizard and we don't have any code to do so in the product. I would suggest that you turn on auditing in AD because it is likely that Unity isn't causing the issue. It's pretty common to see administrators delete the account.

You can turn on Account Management Success auditing on the GPO for the Domain Controllers container. Then when it is deleted next time you should be able to see which account did it and go from there.

Thanks,

Keith

Keith,

thanks for the reply - we had a duplication error for the Unity_servername account as this account existed when the system was connected to exchange 55(this was part of an upgrade, partnering unity from ex55 to ex2k3). We must have deleted the wrong account - we got the accounts sorted out eventually and Unity created the account and associated mailbox on reboot,

Regards J
