Unused DLU

Hi All,

We are planned to do an upgrade from 8.6 to 9.1 (L2), for our two customers:

Need help on following:

Customer-1:

Pub and Sub CUCM, CUC and CUPS

Customer-2:

CUCM, CUC and CUPS

The question is about the unclear licensing migration. How, the unused DLU will be converted to CUWL, we have CUWL for 100 nos of users on both the site. But it is not showing in License Count utility tool.

Thanks

Selvarathnam

Once you reach licensing they will assist you with that procedure and turn your DLUs into the licensing scheme you want to use for those DLUs

Use the license count tool to anaylze the cluster for what it has and what is assigned, then take that output and sit down with your client to decide how to assign the unused DLU count. When you open the Cisco TAC case with licensing, tell them how the client wants the licenses assigned, and TAC will issue the new UC 9 binary file for insertion into the cluster.

Thanks Mr. Jamie and Jeff

I have collected the output from Cisco License Count Utility, I got the all deatils including the Unused DLUs in the output of Generated Report. My query is should I change or allocate or convert the unused DLUs before the upgrade or it can be done after the upgrade ?

Thanks lot.

Hi Selvarathnam,

You don't need to do anything with the unused DLU's as they will

be carried forward through the migration and can be dealt with when

you submit the licensing request to;

licensing@cisco.com

See;

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-27483

http://www.slideshare.net/slandrews/cisco-uc-91-licensing-and-license-migration

https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-32342

Please remeber that you have 60 days to bring the licensing into

compliance so you should be good to go

Cheers!

Rob
