unity313 offbox exchange55 on NT4 will migrate to w2003 and exchange2003. Unity will be installed on a new server. We are planning to do this way:

1.install new unity with 313 into new w2003 domain(unplug the dongle from the old server and attach to the new server)

2.move the mailbox to E2003

3.use dirt to restore the unity database

4.upgrade it to 404.

Is this solution ok?I saw somewhere that indicates if move mailbox from e55 to e2003 for 404 won't fly. If that's the case should we go to 403 first?

Thanks

Hi -

Here is an excerpt from the Unity 4.0(3) release notes - "Cisco Unity 3.x does not support Exchange 2003. If you are upgrading to Cisco Unity 4.0 because it supports Exchange 2003, you must upgrade to Cisco Unity version 4.0(3) or later before you run Exchange 2003 Forestprep. Otherwise, the changes that Forestprep makes to Active Directory will cause Cisco Unity to stop functioning." Here is a link to the release notes - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps2237/prod_release_note09186a00801b92bc.html

I believe you also need to be at 4.0(3) minimum in order to use Unity with a Windows 2003 Domain Controller. Likewise, Windows 2003 is not supported for Unity upgrades to 4.0(4). It has to be a new build with Win2003; then Unity 4.0(4) install, then DiRT from another 4.0(4) system.
