Hi,
short question. Is this way a good way to upgrade cucm cluster:
1. upgrade publisher to new version WITHOUT switch version
2. upgrade subscriber to new Version WITHOUT switch version
3. switch version on publisher
4. wait ~30min
5. switch version on subscriber
6. check/verify dbreplication
Or should i first reboot the Publisher to new version and THAN install the new version to the subscriber and reboot?
Its from 8.6(2a)SU2 to 9.1.1
After that:
1. upgrade single CUP server to new version (8.6.4.12900-2 -> 9.1.1.10000-8)
2. switch version
Cheers
Jason

Your plan is fine, just also wait some time after the SUB comes back for all services to start and replication agreements to kick in.
Don't forget you'll need some time to get the new licenses into ELM. It should be just about 10-15 minutes.

Nope, when you change from CUPS to IM&P, you already need to be running the matching 9.X version of CUCM during the install as that's when it checks versions.
That needs to be done AFTER you complete the CUCM upgrade.

Just another question. Could i also install CUP 9.1 to the inactive partition while the CUCM Pub is not on version 9.1 ?
I don`t know if the CUP upgrade looks to the CUCM publisher version or first if the CUP switch version to 9.1
Do you know what i mean?
This procedure:
1. upgrade publisher to new version WITHOUT switch version
2. upgrade subscriber to new version WITHOUT switch version
3. upgrade single CUP server to new version WITHOUT switch version
4. switch CUCM version on publisher
4. wait ~30min
5. switch SUB version on subscriber
6. check/verify dbreplication
7. switch single CUP version
