Hello team,
for installation of ie cucm in VM we need an ova and a bootable iso
comparing a VM with a physical machine, needs to have the same structure
VM hardware settings , ova builds the machine with our hw preferences
iso disk image , installs the cucm
VM OS , what is responsible to install the OS ?

The OS is in the ISO.

thank you,
it used to be red hat for cucm
but now is centos
so if first installation was with red hat
and the upgrade is on CUCM version with centos
then both the OS and the CUCM will be upgraded
and this is the so called direct refresh
it is also happening when moving from one major version to another like 14 to 15
all the above are correct ?

More or less. Btw v15 uses Alma Linux.
