Behavior on AD Failure with Dual Unity Servers

Dual Unity Clusters (not failover) using IMAP client connections and pointing to single AD. What is the behavior of Unity if there is an AD failure?

Unity won't be able to send messages to Exchange. Users won't be able to check their messages from Unity. Messaging routing will probably stop. I'm not sure exactly what would happen to the IMAP clients but I have a feeling they would be impacted as well.

You will likely want redundant DC/GCs and DNS.

Thanks,

Keith

Would call handlers still funtion, and would callers still be able to leave a message? I assume so, with Unity being in UMR mode. Please confirm.

Thanks.

Sorry to contradict you but I did a test on Unity 4.0(5) with DC/GC/Exchange offbox. I shut down the DC/GC/Exchange server and was able to leave VM under umr mode, and use the Opening Greeting callhandler.
