Call Handlers - Unity 7.02

Jim Augherton

Currently running Unity 7.02, I'm trying to configure a CH to transfer callers to an extension not associated with VM. I've configured the Transfer incoming calls to a phone to (Yes, ring this extension) when pushing the number associated with CH the response comes back with Example Administrator but doesn't connect to the number.  Not sure why this is working, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jim

Hi Jim,

It looks like the same issue as in this thread

Thanks Rob for the link, that’s what I’ve tried to do – but getting the same EA not available.

Hi Jim,

Did you follow the steps listed by Tommer and Mr. Lindborg in regards

to creating a second Call handler and adjusting the Transfer restriction

tables?

Maybe you could describe the call flow (with numbers) so we can try to

help troubleshoot.

Cheers!

Rob

Calling dials into a main menu – listen to all the press options – the select an option that doesn’t have a VM attached to it. For ease 1234, I’ve created a CH to allow 1234 to be accessed. Going into main menu (caller Input) selecting option 1, assign CH to 1234, save, then click on the CH to go to 1234’s CH. Then go to call transfer and select Yes, ring this extension (1234). Make a test call – sorry EA is not available enter your ID followed by pound.

An under the caller input what do you have????

Attempt transfer??? or send to greeting???

Should be the first one if you expect to ring a phone.

Attached are two screen shots – hope this helps clarify settings.

Thanks Jim

By any chance isn't the alternate greeting enabled on that 2357 call handler??

Or any other that's not the std greeting??

I tried using all the options, but it’s currently on standard greeting – I see no reason why this doesn’t work.

Hi Jim,

Is it possibly this bug?

CSCtc23262 Bug Details Bug #19 of 21 | < Previous | Next >

Transfer to CH from Forwarded Routing rule do not work correctly
Symptom:
The Call Handler's Owner's greeting is played instead of ringing the specified number which is set under the call transfer rules for the call handler when the call is transferred via a forwarded routing rule.

Conditions:
Call transfer to a Call Handler via a Forwarded Routing rule.
Call Transfer setting for the Call Handler set to "Yes, ring this extension" with an extension entered.
Call Handler has an extension. Optional  Extension field not blank.

Workaround:
Under Call Transfer, select "Yes, ring extension for:"
Save
Make a call so that is it hits the Forwarded Routing Rule
Change it back to "Yes, ring this extension" with an extension entered.
Save
It will now work

Rob, thanks for all the time and effort you’re putting into this – that’s exactly my problem – but the workaround still didn’t fix my problem. I’m going to TAC in now to see if there’s and ES my version (8.6) of software to fix this .

Hi Jim,

You are most welcome

Please let us know the outcome here.

Cheers!

Rob

Thanks to all for the input - the solution was way to simple - whent Java mentioned to check the ALT transfer I did, the problem was just that the ALT transfer was enabled - which over ruled the rest of the options - when I disabled it on all the CH they started working.  Once again thanks.  Leason learned check ALT Xfer first.

Happy New Year to all.
