Call Transfer Fail and Unhold Issues

Esto

Level 1

CUCM Version 9.1.2

Call Flow: PRI - MGCP GW - CUCM - CUCM SIP TRUNK - IVRS - CUCM SIP TRUNK - CUCM - CCX

Calls via CUCM to CCX work just fine. But calls that go through the IVRS over to UCCX when agent answers anytime they try to hold or transfer the call gets stuck then drops.

Traces indicate "Unable to Unhold connection" and "Call Transfer Failed"

Hi Esto,

Issues with hold and transfer generally point to an issue with MTP allocation, either the MTP is not getting allocated or incorrect type of MTP is getting allocated. Check the MRGL applied on the SIP trunk to see if MTP's are present in the MRG's and also check the status of MTPs under media resources to make sure they are registered. Reset the SIp trunk if you make any changes. A detailed callmanager service trace will show if there is an issue with signaling or media resource allocation.

This was a vendor IVRS. The SIP trunk was requiring a MTP. I changed the SIP Profile to SDP Early offer and removed the MTP requirement. No more issues!

Hi Esto,

Thanks for updating the post with the resolution.

What is IVRS in this call flow. What happens if a call is established directly from IVRS and not coming from CUCM 1 in the call flow.

Regards
