Can we use IP Communicator or Softphones in SRST mode during a WAN link failure scenario? or is IP Communicator not supported to register to CME in such cases?

Yes, you can use IP Communicator in SRST mode during WAN failure. As per latest compatibility guide for SRST/E-SRST, IP Communicator is supported. Please see below URL:

Thanks for the reply!! So basically my remote users working from home using a Softphone can still be functional by having the softphone register to a CME when it looses connectivity to the Primary CUCM..correct??

Yes, as long as you have correct CME configuration and SRST reference IP for IP Communicator.
