Cisco ELM DB on the subscriber stopped with no reason

Hello,
We have CUCM 9.1.2 with 5 nodes,
On the RTMT we can see an alert about Cisco ELM DB stopped on one of the subscribers.

We only use the ELM on the pub so we don't actually need this service but we can't manage to fix this alert.

What can be the reason for that?
Thanks!

Hi,

Do u have any product instance pointing to this Subscriber?

BasicallyProduct instance is added pointing only to Publisher in the cluster.

regds,

aman

Hi Aman,

Im am Yosi's colleague.

We don't have product instance pointing to this subscriber.

There is another reason for this services to be down ?

Thanks a lot,

Liran.

Hi Liran,

Can u try restarting manually utils service start Cisco ELM DB on SUB and check?

regds,

aman

Hi Aman,

Just to be sure, You mean "utils service restart Cisco ELM DB" right ?

Regards,

Liran.

Hi,

I got the same issue.

Callmanager version 9.1.2.12900-11 8 nodes.

The Cisco ELM DB stopped working all of a sudden on a dedicated TFTP and MOH server. I am not able to start the elm service.

Did you solve the issue?

Thank you!

Hi Robin,

Is ELM co-resident  on TFTP/MOH server?

I am not sure whether these bugs are going to help since CUCM version is different. But at least you can try restarting the server.

CLI, GUI and RTMT indicate ELM DB not started
CSCun77018

Symptom:
Occasionally, ELM DB shows that it is not running from CLI, GUI or RTMT alarm.

Examination of the system through a remote account shows that ELM DB and ELM are both running and fully functional.

Conditions:
After an install or upgrade (potentially after a system restart).

Occurs most often to UCS servers (virtualized)

The below is seen in Detailed level CUCM ServM logs (from CLI issue command: set trace enable Detailed servm)

11:40:24.464 |getPidFromFile - Can not open input PID file /var/run/postmaster-9.0.5432.pid

11:40:27.969 |servMDepNode::goInactive(): for Cisco ELM DB
11:40:27.969 |servMProc::isAlive() - Invalid pid 0 for service - Cisco ELM DB
11:40:27.969 |servMProc::setCurState() CurState (notRunning) for service - Cisco ELM DB
11:40:27.969 |servMDepNode::goInactive(): for Cisco ELM DB
11:40:27.969 |servMScriptMgdProc::checkHealth(): Either isAlive () or getAmAction () reported failure. Current state of Service set to NotRunning. This will trigger a Graceful Restart of the Service Cisco ELM DB.
11:40:27.969 |servMScriptMgdProc::checkState() CurState (notRunning), DesiredState (running) - Service - Cisco ELM DB

Workaround:
Contact Cisco TAC to perform this workaround

False RTMT Alert ELM DB Down
CSCuh28348

Symptom:
RTMT reports that ELM DB is down even though it is actually up.

[AlertDetail= Service operational status is DOWN. Cisco ELM DB.

Conditions:
Service Manager logs will say that ELM DB is running:
servMProc::setCurState() CurState (running) for service - Cisco ELM DB

Syslogs will show the alert for ELM DB down:
[AlertDetail= Service operational status is DOWN. Cisco ELM DB.

Workaround:
Restart server

or

Manually stop ELM DB process and restart it through ServM.

Hi,

can you provide output of "utils service list" and "show hardware". I am suspecting a BUG.

JB

Yes Liran.
