Cisco Unified Communications with Lotus Sametime and Notes

Cisco has developed integrations for Lotus Sametime and Notes that enable users to directly access Cisco Unified Communications capabilities. Cisco and IBM: Enhancing the Way People Work Through Unified Communications is a white paper that describes the capabilities and benefits of the integrations, which include telephony, video, voice messaging, presence and conferencing.

I would like to hear from organizations that have standardized on Lotus Notes and/or Sametime about their unified communications plans.

- Is integrating telephony, video, messaging, phone presence or conferencing with Sametime instant messaging a high priority for your organization?

- What Sametime users would benefit the most from having these integrated unified communications capabilities (sales, support, executives)?

Thank you for your input.

Re: Cisco Unified Communications with Lotus Sametime and Notes

You know I would love to implement this technology.... My company owns all the pieces but putting it all together apparently requires you to be a wizard of the 9th level, a brain scientist AND a rocket surgeon....  Or I guess you have to engage Cisco and IBM at $300 an hour for two weeks..  It's ridiculous.. The documentation is poorly written if it exists at all and it typically only relates to products that are 2 years old.
