Hello yosh,

Thanks for reply.

Yes we do have & we come to this stage after installing license. Otherwise it was working fine on Evaluation license.

We re-confirmed from cisco that license issued by license team is valid.

Regards,

Did you verify that the MAC address was correct on the license file. Also have you restarted the server?

Yes we did, reconfirm the mac-address & restarted the server couple of times but still same.

Registering a License File with Provisioning Manager

Step 1 Copy the license file to the Provisioning Manager server, in the folder \license.

The system validates the license file and updates the license. The  updated licensing information appears on the License Status Information  page.

Step 2 The license should automatically take effect in a few minutes. If it does not, select System Administration > License Information.

Step 3 Click PERFORM AUDIT. You will see the phones that you are licensed to update.

Step 4 If you purchased more than one license, repeat Step 1 to install each additional license.

Licensing Warnings

Provisioning Manager provides a licensing warning mechanism. A licensing warning icon () appears in the top right corner of the Provisioning Manager page when one of the following occurs:

A license file does not exist or cannot be read.

One or more features have reached or exceeded the limit specified in the licensing file.

Entries  for one or more features do not exist in the license file (this occurs  only when the license file is not generated correctly or if the file is  manually edited).

Yosh,

I tried but no luck still the same error

We have installed Cisco Service Monitor today & just need to confirm do we need to buy sensor 1040 with it or we can do monitoring without sensor as well ?

Our main motive is to do real time monitoring for CUCM, IP Phones, Calling details.

Regards,

Anis

Anis,

I would reach out to TAC, in regards to the licensing issue that you're experiencing. You don't need to have the 1040 sensor unless you want RTP MOS. Below are a few Q&As and the link.

Q. What are the components of Cisco Prime Unified Service Monitor

A. The Cisco Prime Unified Service  Monitor voice quality solution consists of central Cisco Prime Unified  Service Monitor software and Cisco 1040 Sensor hardware.

The Cisco Prime Unified Service Monitor application software  receives voice quality information from Cisco 1040 Sensors, Cisco  Network Analysis Module (NAM), and Cisco Unified Communications Manager  4.2 or later systems. Users can configure MOS thresholds on a per codec  basis; alerts are sent to an upstream application such as Cisco Prime  Unified Operations Manager when a MOS threshold is violated. Cisco Prime  Unified Service Monitor allows users to understand the service quality  experience at a system level through Cisco Voice Transmission Quality  (VTQ) support and in real time through the Cisco 1040 Sensors and NAM.

Q. What are the key benefits of Cisco Prime Unified Service Monitor 9.0?

A. The key benefits are:

• Supports the latest releases of Cisco Unified Communications Management Suite components

• Integrates with Cisco Prime Unified Operations Manager UC Opsview Dashboard, Diagnostics View, and Fault Monitor

• Provides real-time alerting and reporting on call quality metrics

• Uses call metrics from Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco NAM, Cisco 1040 Sensors

• Correlates call detail records and Cisco NAM and 1040 call reports for enhanced analysis

• Provides the ability to pinpoint the network segment causing call quality degradation

• Provides configurable MOS thresholds based on the phone codec type

Call classification based on a user-defined USM dial plan with system and user-defined call types

• Rich filter options for the CDR reports

• Integrates with the Cisco Prime Unified Operations Manager service quality alert dashboard

• Integrates with Cisco Unified Service Statistics Manager long-term reporting and trending functions

Q. Where do you deploy the Cisco 1040 Sensors in the network?

A. The Cisco 1040 Sensor can be  deployed in campus and remote locations (such as branch offices) to  analyze voice-specific Rapid Transport Protocol (RTP) data streams and  to calculate a MOS value for each stream. The end-user experience is  captured, analyzed, and reported every 60 seconds. The Cisco 1040 Sensor  uses IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) and integrates with IP  telephony devices such as Cisco Unified IP phones, gateways, and  telephony service such as voicemail to measure voice quality. The Cisco  1040 Sensor is FCC Class B-compliant and can be installed in any office  environment.

Yosh,

Thank you so much for sharing useful info:

Our client is looking for the topology diagram of CUCM PUB, SUB, Voice  gateway and real time status of the IP Phones with Alert message.   Please suggest with  Service Monitor without sensor  Can we achieve this ?

If not, is there any other tool available for same purpose ?

Regards,

What do you mean by topology diagram? The 1040 sensor is used for call statistics and MOS, which would provide the voice quality of each call. What exactly is your client trying to achieve?

Yosh

HTH Regards, Yosh

Yosh,

Actually Our client is acting like Service Provider for multiple clients, each clients are having there own CUCM cluster. In nearby future they will configure inter-cluster trunks between CUCM all clients to enable cisco unified services centrally.

It will be a huge setup approx 3000 to 4000 ip phones project..

In order to manage this setup they are looking for Real Time Monitoring tool that can make Topology Diagram for Unified Products with connectivity, End Points information like which phones are registered how many macs are into database, voice gateway status or PRI interfaces status up or down,

We are looking for any solution that can fulfil above requirement.

Regards,

Hello,

Any idea or solution for above requirement ?
