Cisco Unity 11.5 How to listen to Opening Greeting

Cisco Unity Connections 11.5.1.12900-21

I'm trying to track down a greeting that has been reported by a user.

Working in the web administrator,  on Call Management -> System Call Handlers, I've been able to find which ones are playing recordings and listen to them in Greetings Administrator.  Note: the Media Player does not allow us to use the PC as a recording/playback option - can only use the phones.

The one curiosity is the Opening Greeting Call Handler.

There is no associated extension with it - therefore you cannot listen/edit in Greetings Administrator.

With no Media Player PC option, either, how do you listen to what the Opening Greeting is playing?  How do you edit it if this - indeed - turns out to be the offending greeting?

TIA

Rick

With Unity Connection. 11.5(1) SU5 and later, the Media Player also supports the computer as playback or recording device along with phone. The player provides an option to select the phone or computer for playback and recording .

As stated, the Media Player does not offer the PC option in our environment.

We must not be on release SU5.

You can also listen to and edit the Opening Greeting using the "Autiotext Manager for Connection"

Is there a reason you can't configure the Opening Greeting with an extension? The extension does not have to be part of your dialplan. For instance, you can configure the Opening Greeting with an extension of 9999998 or some such thing.

Another way to listen to the opening greeting is to call directly to the voicemail pilot from an extension that does not have an associated voicemail box.

If neither of these is possible, one additional way to listen to the opening greeting would be to configure a keypad map (on your own voicemail box, for instance) to transfer to the Opening Greeting call handler.

If none of these provides a solution, please let us know what the stoppers are and we will figure out something.
