CUCM 11.5.1.16900-16 error while uploading firmware for CP 8845

When attempting to upload the .cop.sgn files for the 8845-8865 phones we get the vague "An unknown error occurred while accessing the upgrade file.". We've tried a number of different versions of the firmware and all get the same issue. This issue seems to only happen when uploading firmware for those phones, there's no issues with the firmware for the 8811 or 7811 for example. We are using FTP to get files uploaded into the CUCM nodes.

Does anyone know what might be causing the issue?

Which exact COP file are you installing?

You need to pull CUCM install log to look for more details.

In this particular case it was the cmterm-8845_65-sip.12-6-1-0001-668.k3.cop.sgn https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286286004/type/282074288/release/12.6(1) but I also tried the 12.5 and the 12.7.

Hello, Please follow these steps;

-Restart Tomcat on each node
-Restart TFTP services
-Download upgrade file again from Cisco
-Try uploading with FreeFTPD

Pay attention what Cisco say in the release note;

Installation

Installation Requirements

Before you install the firmware release, you must ensure that your Cisco Unified Communications Manager is running the latest device pack. After you install a device pack on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager servers in the cluster, you need to reboot all the servers.

Note

If your Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not have the required device pack to support this firmware release, the firmware may not work correctly.

For information on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Device Packs, see http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/devpack_comp_mtx.html.

Install the Firmware Release on Cisco Unified Communications Manager

Before using the phone firmware release on the Cisco Unified Communications Manager, you must install the latest Cisco Unified Communications Manager firmware on all Cisco Unified Communications Manager servers in the cluster.

I tried what you suggested, but unfortunately it has not resolved the issue.

Hi Chris,

I got the install logs and looked through it, here's what I found.
