CUCM 6.0: Processor load over 90 Percent

Hi Team,

We've issue with CUCM, RTMTool alerts: CallProcessingNodeCpuPegging

Processor load over 90 Percent.

servM (85 percent) uses most of the CPU.

Processor_Info:

For processor instance _Total: %CPU= 99, %User= 70, %System= 19, %Nice= 0, %Idle= 0, %IOWait= 0, %softirq= 10, %irq= 0.

High CPU load affects to connecting time(time while sound comes up from IP Phone after picked up - 4-5 seconds).

There are about 15 IP Phones, whats going wrong?

System version: 6.0.1.2000-4

Are you running a "zillion" traces? I have seen sometimes people go in and run traces on CUCM and check mark everything option under the sun, which of course is bad because then CUCM has to track, trace and log everyone of those check boxes. Only select what you need.

Worst case, restart the CUCM and see if the CPU comes back to 90 percent again.
