CUCM 8.6.2 LDAP User Delete Pending LDAP Sync Status Inactive

BE6K ver 8.6.2

Client has a user who recently got married.  They changed her account information in Active Directtory to reflect her new last name. At that point CUCM shows her as

Delete Pending

LDAP Sync Status Inactive

CUC shows

LDAP User has been deleted.

The user still exists in both CUC and CUCM and is actively takign and receiving calls.  User has VM access.

Shorrt of deleting the user in AD and recreating her, is there a way to force this to re-sync?

Thanks

Matt

Then that's expected to happen, for all purposes to CUCM/CUC eyes, msmith no longer exists and will be deleted, and a new user mjones now will be imported.

Depending on when the change was done and when CUCM detected this, it might take up to 48 hours maximum to delete the user

You'll need to associate everything to the new user, and also add that new user into CUC.

Or switch back her userID to the old one, and just change the surname for directory purposes.

Did you change any parameter that was the userID from CUCM/CUC??

if the user was originally Mary Smith, with a user ID of msmith and an email address of msmith@xyz.com, the new user is Mary Jones, userID mjones, email mjones@xyz.com.  Device and DN stayed the same.

all changes were done in Active Directory and Exchange, nothing was done to CUC/CUCM

change was made 10 days ago - user was never deleted from CUCM and the NEW user was never added.

cm>ldap fail.

Ok, so... TAC?

Seems like that's the case, it seems the LDAP service stopped working. You can try to restart the LDAP service, if it still fails to delete/add new users, yeah, open a TAC so they can find out what's going on.

other new users have been added and deleted successfully - DirSyncSvc seems to work fine for all but this user.

Will advise customer to open a TAC case.

Thanks for the assist.

***UPDATE***

It appears this was a gremlin in the works.  We modified the records in LDAP and then changed them back.  this seemed to fire off the sync again, with both the new and old users now showing up in the directory.  We migrated all settings to the updated user and the previous account was removed by the cleanup routine.

thanks again for the assist.
