CUCM Backup (DRF) failure

Hi Team,

Cisco DRF backup fails to  CUCMSUB TFTP component at  86%.

Steps taken:

Restart DRF service in both sub and pub.

Restart tftp service in sub.

Can anyone throw in some suggestions.

Hi, have you check if your backup server still has a sufficient available space?
You may also try using a different backup server if that works.

Which uses software to back up?
many on windows allow a maximum of one giga of transfer per single file

Hi there 

Freeftpd is the widely used and acceptable one. You can also use Open SSH, Cygwin  or titan.

I had experience with a file higher than a giga and freeftpd did not work

Yes, Freeftp do have that issue of 1GB limitation. FreeFTPd/OpenSSHd is no longer developed and is unsupported for DRF backups now.


Cigwin, OpenSSH, native linux SFTP server all can be used instead of freeFTPd as a work around.

I am not sure, but this could be because we only have 1.5 M of bandwidth at the site where our SUB is and it could be bogged down when running the back up.

I have also observed tftp pub backup is completed successfully.
