CUCM Syslog Agent - Sending logs to remote servers

Hello,

I am using CUCM v10.5 and am interested in sending all call manger logs to a remote syslog server. I am thinking of using the cisco syslog agent built into the call manager - CM Administrator >> System >> Enterprise Parameters >> Cisco Syslog Agent to do this.

Cisco Syslog Agent

The settings listed here seem to allow me to specify up to five different remote servers. My question is, do logs get sent to each server in parallel?

I'm trying to determine whether it is possible to specify failover servers for outbound syslog traffic. I.e. Direct log traffic to 'Syslog-Server-A', if server A is down, direct traffic to 'Syslog-Server-B'.

Similar to what can be done with syslog-ng on unix systems.

I know that I can use an external load balancer to achieve this, which is what i'm currently planning on doing. Just wondering if this kind of thing is possible natively in CUCM.

Thanks

Hello,

From my experience:

Syslog is sent to all syslog servers in parallel.

No failover is taking place.
