CUPS 8.6 failover failed

Hello,

We have 2 X CUPS 8.6.

Primary 10.1.24.80 & Secondary 10.8.24.80.

If Primary server goes down we are facing difficulty in loging into secondary CUPS via Jabber.

We enabled the High Availability option. We are using hostname (cups.abc.net) in server address option, ip address of both servers are mapped on this  hostname. If any one server disconnect from network, we can see via nslook that cups.abc.net is resolving with secondary server ip address.

This problem happen after power outage in our network. Before power outage failover was working fine. Attached are the screen shots from system, can any one advise whats the problem & how to fix it.

In logs we found that Presence Engine & XCP Message Archievers are stopped in secondary server, we tried starting it manually but no luck.

Regards,

One thing we just noticed that Primary Server can reach to Domain Server but secondary Server can not. Is it mandatory for both servers to have accessibility to the Domain Server.

Is this could be the cause of problem ?

You need DNS to be working perfectly or you can have a whole series of problem, starting with database replication and the heartbeats. Get your A and PTR records correct - ONLY one of each for both nodes. A common mistake is multiple PTR records for the same FQDN.

The second problem is that EPE is a critical service. You need to figure out why it won't start, possibly due to DNS if that's broken. Verify that the db replication is all good, then turn up debug logging on EPE and take a look.
