We are aiming at replacing Sametime for a customer and use Jabber instead (+ CUCM, CUPS, CUC etc). Problem we encounter is that Sametime is tighthly integrated with the LN Suite of applications and presence is shown in email, Quickr and any other LN application.
1) Using Cisco's SDK kit to develop the same level of presence integration with Jabber. Is that possible at all and how much effort would such undertaking consume?
2) We have no in house expertise to do this kind of development. Any suggestions for a company that does this on consultancy basis?
3) Is there a way to let CUPS & Sametime Server co-exists via XMPP or SIP / SIMPLE and push /pull status messages between the two and let CUPS be the "master" presence server somehow?
