CUPS with Sametime Plugin

Hi All,

We are integrating the CUPS 7.0.8 with Sametime client with PCAP Plugins. We not able to get the Presence status in the sametime client.

Please find the following observation on this problem

1) Test the Phone Presence status with the CUPC - Working fine.

2) CUPS[CCM DC] & Sametime [Domino] using two different directory service

3) CUPS User ID mapped via Sametime Busisness card attribute "Telephone"

4) In the CUPS we can able to see the PCAP plugin version in the client status

5)Some of the users are come in the Contact list & some of the entires not appear in the contact list [Verified in CUPS Enduser Contact List]

6) If we manually add the user in the contact list , "Notify" messages are forwarded to the Sametime client .But there is no presence status in the Sametime Client.

7)When sametime client login to the server,able to see the contact subscribe message in the CUPS.

How the contact informations are updated for CUPS user ? Any specific limitation or  configuration has to be done for this ?

We update the busisness card attribute "Telephone" from the sametime client itself . Wheather it's the right way or we have to map in the Sametime server ?

Which element excatly control the presence status in the sametime client ?

When Sametime signs in, the plugin create a contact list on CUPS server and put them in "Sametime Only" group.

Any specific limitation or  configuration has to be done for this ?

Not sure what you were asking.

We  update the busisness card attribute "Telephone" from the sametime  client itself . Wheather it's the right way or we have to map in the  Sametime server ?

It doesn't matter how you do it as long as the "Telephone" attribute is visible by other Sametime users.

Thanks for your reply.

My Question if there 10 contacts in sametime client , when it exchange the information with CUPS not all the 10 contacts updated there.

In our scneario All the users update their busisnes card attribute from the sametimeclient. For example User A updated his telephone attribute & for user A "Work" Phone number configured in the domino directory.When User A in User B contact List the value in the "work " attribute displayed their as User ID.

How we can troublshoot the Presence from the Sametime client side?

You may try this:

1) From Sametime client, backup your contact list.

2)  From Sametime client, remove all contacts from contact list.

3)  From Sametime client, add one contact to the contact list.

4) Test phone presence on Sametime client.

If it works, try to add contacts to Sametime client bit by bit (no more than 10 contacts at a time).

I'm not sure what version of plugin you're using.  Previous version of plugin was not able to handle large number of contacts during initialization (creating contact entries on CUPS server).
