Custom Email Field for CUCM to Sync with Unity.

Recently, my office switched to office 365 from Exchange, in this process they changed the email ID domain and structure too.

Example:

------------

First name =  Peter and Last name = Parker.

Old Email ID = pparker@abc.com

New Email ID = peter.parker@xyz.com

Now, company uses old ID to authenticate the services (single sign on), so can't change it. CUCM take email ID from AD.

But for unified messaging services to send VM to the user email account, we need to define new email ID -> peter.parker@xyz.com

I know it can be done, individually  by going to user account, edit, unified messaging , use this email ID.

But is there a simple way, we can define the new email ID, or take email ID from a custom filed of AD.

Thank You.

The bulk administration tool on Unity Connection allows you to make batch updates to Unified Messaging accounts.

  1. From Unity Connection Web Administration navigate to Tools > Bulk Administration Tool
  2. Create an export of the current Unified Messaging Accounts (it will be in CSV format)
    • Select Operation type of "Export"
    • Select Object Type of "Unified Messaging Accounts"
  3. Open the CSV export in Excel, modify the "UMEmailAddress" field for the users to the correct format
  4. Save the CSV with a new filename
  5. From the bulk admin page in Unity "Update" the existing Unified Messaging accounts with the new CSV file
  6. Bob is now your uncle.
