Deploying Collaboration Edge and MRA across WAN

We have a customer which would like to have centralized call processing here in the US.  However they would like the Collab Edge and MRA capability deployed at local branch offices overseas.  Is there a requirement for certain latency either between the Expressway-E and Expressway-C or between the Expressway-C and CUCM/IM&P applications?

Hi Bryan,

The following rules apply to Expressway clustering:

  • All nodes in a cluster need to be within 30 ms maximum round-trip time to all other cluster nodes. Clustering over the WAN is thus not recommended due to latency constraints.
  • Deploy an equal number of nodes in Expressway-C and Expressway-E clusters.

You can find more details here

Manish,

Thanks for the reply.  I understand the latency requirements for the Expressway cluster peers.  I read through the documentation and there is no mention on any latency requirements between the Expressway-C and Expressway-E, or between the Expressway-C and the CUCM applications.

Do you know if there are latency requirements between Collab Edge and CUCM/IM&P?
