Extra buttons for 7970 and 7961

Each phone supports only two expansion modules (14 buttons each expansion module). So total is 8+14+14 += 36. I need around 60 buttons on the phone.

So is there any way to get more buttons for the IP phones. Does Cisco provides any software’s which can solve this problem.

Hi!

The limit is 42 lines with two 7916 Expansion Modules According to:

If you use a 7975 you can have up to 56.Unfortunantely there is no SW you can use to expand these limits.

Thanks for your response stevens..... does Cisco provide any operator console software like "alticonsole" which is provided by Altigen.

There are several Attendant Consoles available depending your needs. Please check the Datasheets below for more information:

Hi!

There is going to be an Attendant Console for CME and UC500 that is built on the Unified Call Connector Application. That is still a
few months out at the moment (not sure of the exact date when it will be released). UCC client and server can perform most of the functions
needed in an operator console, even though the UCC client is certainly not a typical attendant console GUI. I will recommend you to contact
your Account Manager and ask about the new UCC Attendant Console for CME to see if there are any trials you can try or ask for the release
date

Does anyone know if the line limit will be increased on the phones in version 8?  When you have two 7916s connected, you can only use the first screen on the second expansion unit.  When I looked it up last time it was going to be corrected in "future releases" and just wondering if 8 is that release.

Hello John,

In checking with the team, this is addressed in Cisco Unified Communications Manager System Release 7.1(3) along with IP Phone Firmware 8.5 (3). Note that you need both the system release and the IP Phone firmware update to take advantage of the second page functionality on the 7916 Expansion Module.
