Hi, Everyone

I have BE7000 (UCS c240M4) and should install Cisco Unity on VM using OVA CUC_11.0.0_vmv8_v1.5.ova and the install fails with a critical error.

###############################################################################################################

Cisco Unified Communications Manager 11.0.1.20000-2

The installation has encountered a unrecoverable internal error. For further assistance report the following information to your provider.

Command "/opt/cisco/install/bin/pmNormalizeGeneric/etc/opt/cisco/install/component_install_cmd-list" has exceeded timed threshold of 3600 seconds

The system will now halt

I tried reinstall without sucess

Try disabling the LRO option in the ESXi host configuration followed by ESXi host reboot. refer below doc for the same.

https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/95886/disable-lro-ucs-uc-application-deployments

http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Disable_LRO

Also refer the below Bug and Contact Cisco TAC if disabling the LRO doesn't help.

Symptom:
Upgrade times out with the error:

Command "/opt/cisco/install/bin/pmNormalizeGeneric /etc/opt/cisco/install/component_install_cmd_list" has exceeded timed threshold of 3600 seconds

Conditions:
Migration from 6.1(5)/7.x/8.x/9.x/10.0(1)/10.5(1) to 10.5(2)

Workaround:
Disable the VM's ntp sync with the ESXi host using the workaround mentioned in the below link:http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1189
Alternate workaround would be to configure ESXi server & CUCM publisher to point to same NTP server.

Further Problem Description:
Due to the symptoms, we see upgrade failures.

I had the same problem, with the same OVA and the same CUC version.  Vmware version 6.0

The fix was to disable LRO even though the docs say you shouldn't have to.  Mine was also a fresh build rather than an upgrade.

Yep fixed it for me too for a fresh build (sigh!)

I had the same issue and I can solved it with a fresh install CUC 11.5.1.100000-6
