IP Fax inbound service cannot deliver faxes

Dear UM guru's,

Unity 4.0(4) UM Exchange 2003 - AD integration

IPFax Config wizard 2.0.0.22

Problem: inbound fax messages cannot be delivered to some (not all) exchange 2003 recipients.

Error messages are being displayed in de ipfax log file (commserver\log\ directory):

"2005-01-24","12:17:38","Message delivered: Fax for Lastname.Firstname, mailbox ID [ 5191 ] from [ Unknown ] -- Subject= [DNIS=5191]"

"2005-01-24","12:17:39","Caught COM exception trying to resolve recipient Lastname.Firstname - Code: 0x80040ce8. Method: CIpFaxCdoHelper::ForwardMessage. [IpFaxMessageHelper.cpp::2207]"

"2005-01-24","12:17:39","Caught exception - Code: 0x800445ed. Method: CIpFaxCdoHelper::ForwardMessage. [IpFaxMessageHelper.cpp::2228]"

It seems like the recipient can be found but the fax cannot be forwarded to the corresponding mailbox

Anyone has seen this ?

The recipient may be marked hidden in the exchange address list. If you unhide the recipient, it should work.

I get a similar message, however my account is not hidden. All other accounts work OK. Only my account has a problem

I had this same problem. Eventual fix was to DL and Install a new IpFax from ciscounitytools.com.

Problem was related to the following:

1: User was hidden from the Exchange Address book.

2: Ambiguous user id. The PC and UserId were the same (ie: pc named USERNAME and UserId was USERNAME).

If you have a TAC case open, please have them reference closed TAC case ID: 600894615.

We had to rename the user's PC to USERNAME-PC, unhide the user from the address book, rebuild the address book and then install the updated IpFax application on the unity which will check multiple places within SQL and AD when it attempts to deliver the fax.
