Jabber for Everyone - CUPS VM Download?

Hi all,

Just got a PAK for CUP-86-K9-SW-PAK for a customer, which to my mind gives me both the licences and software, but that's all I've got.

A few questions -

Where do I get the software?  Should I be going back to the supplier for this on physical DVDs, or does registering the PAK give me access?  If I have to register the PAK, what licence MAC am I supposed to use if the server doesn't exist (it will be installed on a UCS C200 M2 which already has CMBE)?

Apologies if I'm being stupid here, I've already contacted the supplier but haven't heard back from them...

Thanks in advance,

Jason

Jason,

You go to this site:

http://www.cisco.com/web/cuc_afg/index.html

You pick CUPS from the drop down list.

You fill in the information as appropriate for your build.

The output is a license MAC. You use this license MAC when you register to the software license PAK. Once you register the PAK then you should have to the ability to download the .iso needed to build the server. Download and either burnd a DVD or upload it to a datastore on your compute platform.

I get my licenses for lab in a different way, but you should be able to go to www.cisco.com/go/license and enter the same information you're going to use with your VM so the license MAC is generated from the hash of those values.

Someone keep me honest on that one.

Otherwise, just wait until you install the server and do a sh status from CLI to get the license MAC

Problem is, I can't install the server until I get the ISO (or DVDs),  but it looks like I have to register the licence first to get the  software...  Chicken and egg situation - I must be reading it wrong,  I'll go back to the supplier to see if they can get me the software.

Cheers

Hi, I've the same problem that Jason.

I've the PAK for CUP-86-K9-SW-PAK. I've already generated the "Answer File" for the installation, so I've the MAC address for the license registration. In fact, I've already registered the license in www.cisco.com/go/license, but all i get is the license file. Where do i get the link for the ISO download?

Regards,
Martin
