I have Unity ver 4.0 build 4.0(5) running on a Windows 2000 SP4 Box connecting to a Windows 2003 server running Exchange 2003 SP1. I am planning on running the SP2 update and I was wondering if anyone has had any known issues with this upgrade. I have planned to remove the IMF Ver1 before the upgrade and I am up to date with all patches. anything else you can add to my to do list before the update?
from Cisco Unity 4.x System Requirements, and Supported Hardware and Software
The following Exchange service packs and post-service pack rollup are required:
Exchange 2003 Service Pack 1 for Cisco Unity 4.0(5) and later.
Within 60 days of an applicable Microsoft service pack release, Cisco will announce whether the service pack can be applied to released Cisco Unity and Bridge versions. If so, the new service pack becomes the recommended service pack for Cisco Unity and the Bridge.
Exch 2003 sp2 was released on 2/16/2006.
Jeff Lindborg said on the 20/12/2005 that SP2 for Exchange had been cleared on the 19/12/2005:
Is this note the case? If not I need to urgently make some changes to our 2003 migration that has just kicked off. According to Microsoft Website SP2 was released on 11/10/2005 and not 16/2/2006.
We have Unity 4.0(5) servers in production, running OS Windows 2003 SP1 and we had NO problems when the Exchange 2003 servers were upgraded to SP2. We tested in the lab first, of course. But this really was a non-issue.
You are correct and I am sorry about the error; I had made a mistake when I checked MS website - the help file was the one that was released on Feb 16.
Thanks for the info. The ExchSP2 upgrade was a snap. no issues were encountered and it only took about 15 minutes to complete.
Thank you again for the support it's great to have a place to ask these operational questions without all the booha that the internet can bring.
Have a nice day!
