For a CUCM 12.5 deployment we are going to have Jabber for Windows users and Android,IOS smartphones, these will connect locally as well as across the Expressway edge for external access. For my Contacts/directory sevice do I need to create just for BDI directory? As I understand JFW will auto use ADSI. Do I need to do anything seperately for Expressway as I have read somewhere you need to create a UDS lookup?

BDI is no longer used. Might want to read some of the recent Jabber documentation.

But no, you don't need to do anything, regardless of what you use internally, MRA defaults to UDS unless you configure LDAP proxy.
