Loud Tone at Auto Attendant

Hello, I have configured an auto attendant in Unity Connection 8.6.2 and my users are experiencing a loud tone that continually rings until they hang up the phone whenever they press the * button. I have tried removing the function of the * button and setting it to ignore in the Caller Input section of the call handler configuration page, but this does not fix the issue. Also, this tone is only heard when users are calling the call handler internally, the tone is not there when the call handler is called from an offnet source. Has anyone experienced an issue similar to this, and what did you do to fix it?
