Message Notifacation Icons

Hey guys, a little help please.

We have just recently moved to the Cisco AVVID system. The contractors who set up the system tied several phones to one "general" mailbox so they will get the message indicator icon. I need to remove a phone from getting this indicator. How do i do this. I am running CCM 4.2 and Unity 4.2.

Hi JJ,

Check out Step #5 from this doc ( Under MWI Extensions) this will allow you to detach the MWI from the specified Alternate Extension.

Thanks for the reply Rob.

I have removed the extension, reset the phone and the MWI is still active on the phone. How do i clear this? This extension does not have any VM at all attached to it.

Hi JJ,

In CCM look up the MW-Off number (Feature>Voicemail>Message Waiting>Directory Number>Message Waiting Indicator Off )

This will be a Directory Number like perhaps 2600. Go to the phone, press the Line button, dial 2600 and the MWI Lamp/Icon will turn off.
