Monitor Active Calls over SIP Trunk

Hi Guys,

We are using CUCM 11 and we have a requirement to monitor the number of active calls over our SIP trunks. Currently, we have 4 SIP trunks that we wish to monitor. Ultimately what i want is to be able to see the total number of active calls for each of these 4 trunks. For example

Trunk 1: 6 calls

Trunk 2: 3 calls

etc...

I know i can see this information in RTMT, but i would like to be able to pull this data via another method so i can add this into our existing monitoring solution and also run some calculations on this data. Is this information logged in an SQL database we can query? Or maybe it can be exposed through SNMP?

Any insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!

I use 'show call active voice

I use 'show call active voice compact'

Not sure if this is SIP only as we have no analog lines.

Hi,

Hi,

You can use the trunk utilization feature of the CDR.

Also, it can be done using SNMP. Refer to the discussion below:

When we view the trunk

When we view the trunk utilization, it shows that it is always at 100% regardless of if there is one active call or 20.

Not sure if it makes a difference but this is CUCM hosted on a UCS so a lot of the ios commands are not recognized. Also, the OID's listed in the article are not found.

I played with this a few

I played with this a few months ago. I know when I set it up it defaults to having a single truck or on SIP a single channel. I had to specify how many I had. Then you wait 24 hrs and look the next day and it shows the correct percentage.
