moving from cme to cucm and keeping cme as vg

a customer have a cme "UC520" and i want to move to cucm , can i disable the cme as a phone system and make it a voice gateway for cucm? if so ,  how?

can i still use the translation pattern and voip and pots dial peers on it instead of putting them on the cucm by directing all calls to it then the cme applies the old translation patterns and pots and voip dial peers?

Unless things have changed, it was not supported to use the UC5xx as GWs for CUCM as they're not sold or marketed as a gateway, but as a UC appliance.
