Can anyone explain in plain english why some devices that require a SIP TRUNK from CUCM need a
"Non Secure SIP Profile" ?
Why would you use "Non Secure" like VCS for instance?
What are devices use "Non secure & Why please?
Thanks in advance

A SIP Trunk Security Profile defines the layer four transport, port, permissions, and whether it will use TLS. You must assign a profile to every trunk and the non-secure one happens to be the default.
Choosing a transport of TLS (and allowing SRTP on the Trunk itself) is only beneficial if you intend to have encrypted calls on the trunk or if the destination requires TLS.
