Number of PSTN Calls to/from H323 Gateway

Hello Experts,

We have an H323 gateway connected to PRIs. I need to know the average number of calls that comes in or goes out the PRI to see if we need to add more or reduce to save money. Is there a report I can use to get this information? In RTMT perhaps?

Thank you.

The CAR has some utilization reports that might be useful.

Variphy has some sweet tools to help here too, but they aren't free although I think trials are.

We've made in house tools for similar reporting. Setup CDR to go to an SFTP server, load them into SQL, then do all the reporting you want. It can get tricky if you have one gateway with multiple PRIs on the same device and the same connection to Call Manager. In those cases, we monitor SNMP to figure out which dial-peers are being used, understanding that dial peer's maybe 100, 200, and 300 are maybe AT&T, and that maybe 400, 500, and 600 might be PRIs to CenturyLink.

With all the complexity on the Cisco side, another good place to start with with your carrier. Some have decent web portals allowing you to create reports to help you understand utilization there. That's might be a good starting place!

Take a look at VoIP Detective.  The paid version includes gateway utilization graphs for gateways, conference bridges, and more.
