Procedure to collect logs from HCMF for Cisco TAC

Introduction:

This discussion talks about the process to collect the logs from HCMF for TAC.

How to set trace-levels on HCMF?

 

Step1:

Get the complete name of the service from the command “utils service list”. For example “ Cisco HCS CUCDMSync Service

 

Step 2:

Verify the available trace levels by running the command” show tracelevels”

Step3:

Verify the existing trace level using the command “show trace”

In the next line enter the service name you want to check.

Step4:

Set the tracing to detailed using the command “set trace tracelevel “

Step 5:

Verify changes took effect or not using the command “show trace”

In the next line enter the service name you want to check.

 

Step6:

Login to RTMT to collect logs.

Step7:

Upload the logs to the SR using the link below:

https://cway.cisco.com/csc

Note:

In case you are unable to collect logs from RTMT, you can collect it form CLI using the command:

File list active /hcs/

Log locations:

 

  • CUCDM Sync:

activelog /hcs/cucdmsync/*

 

  • SI logs:

activelog /tomcat/logs/si/log4j/*

 

  • HLM Logs:

activelog /hcs/HLM/*

 

  • Platform Manager:

activelog /tomcat/logs/pm/log4j/*

 

  • DMA-SA:

activelog /hcs/dmasa/*

 

  • CHPA:

activelog /hcs/chpa/*

 

  • Syslogs:

activelog syslog/CiscoSyslog

 

  • SDR-CNF:

activelog hcs/sdrcnf

 

  • Packet captures:

activelog /platform/cli/

 

 

 

Diagnostics:

 

CHPA:

utils diagnose hcs chpa

 

CNF:

 

utils diagnose hcs cnf

utils diagnose hcs sdrcnf

 

CUCDM Sync:
utils diagnose hcs cucdmsync

 

DMA-SA
utils diagnose hcs dmasa

 

HLM:

utils diagnose hcs hlm

SI:
utils diagnose hcs si

 

UCS Manager Sync:

utils diagnose hcs ucsmsync

 

vcentersync:
utils diagnose hcs vcentersync
