Hello,
We have a few requirements and I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction of which software we need to purchase to meet these requirements.
1) Each employee needs to have a client installed on his/her PC in which he/she can see the presence of other employee's. Features like IM and dialing these users should be possible.
2) Connecting the client with the (hard/soft) IP Phone the user is currently using.
3) Being able to login on a hard/soft IP Phone using a personal PIN code which enables the phone for that particular user (user personal extension number shows on the phone).
We currently have CME 7.1 on a Cisco 3925 (15.0(1)M4).
Do we need to upgrade our software? Purchase CUP? Purchase different hardware?

1 and 2 are achieved using Jabber, but you need CUPS AND CUCM, not CME so.

What is EM exactly?
Is it possible to use CUCM with a Cisco 3925? I did some research, and it seems the 3925 only supports CME.
Extension Mobility, CME config guide has all the info about it.
