Need to replace existing Unity 4.0(4) server with new box and would like to upgarade to 4.1(1) as well.

Integrated into AD with CCM 3.3(5).

Wondering what is best way forward?

Should i:

1. upgrade existing box to 4.1(1) first then build new box as 4.1(1) then migrate subscriber info or

2. build new box as 4.0(4) migrate subscriber information and then upgrade new box.

I would suggest you take a DIRT backup of existing server, rebuild new server to 4.04, restore the DB and then upgrade to 4.1(1). This way your old server will never have to be touched!

If you don't want to mess with removing CCM integration, the better way is to do a backup with 3rd party software such as Backup Exec, and restore to the new server. After that you would upgrade the unity version.

Just read in another post that Unity 4.1(1) supports only US English. If you need localized language support, you may want to upgrade to 4.2 release.
