UC 8.5 to hosted Exchange 2010

Hello,

We have upgraded our Unity to 8.5.1 and attempting the sync with an outsourced Exchange 2010 provider , the voicemail is being forward fine from Unity to Exchange but not syncing back when read or deleted in Exchange , i.e the WMI light is not working ,  We are told the UC server needs to be configured with a public ip address , where ours is internal private address . Has anyone experienced this issue and have any advice . It would be similar to using Office365 and UC .

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

Yes, Exchange does need to contact UC over port 7080 for updates to be reflected on UC.

Security Guide.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/security/guide/8xcucsec010.html#wp1055349

TCP: 7080

Open

jetty/Connection Jetty

jetty

Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010 only, single inbox only: EWS notifications of changes to Connection voice messages.

If the Exchange server's can't connect to your internal IP address, you'll need to create a NAT address on the firewall so Exchange can connect to UC. You only need to open it for port 7080.

Good Luck.
