CUCM - Cisco Unified Communications Manager is the core of unified communication.  Most other products - Unity Connection Voicemail, UCCX call center, VCS / Expressway video, etc all "hook into" CUCM.  While many can stand on their own, CUCM is generally the heart of Unified Communications.

Thank you! excellent explanation.

As a point of interest Cisco marketing has moved on from "Unified Communications" to "Collaboration" to now "Cognitive collaboration" description of their UC/Voice/Collab portfolio to better describe their portfolio's capabilities as things have evolved and are no longer just voice and messaging :-)

it is good to know. Thank you

Hi Since Unified communications is a set of many service, does it has something like dashboard or platform for us to manage or control it?
