Unity 11.5 voice message notification

Hello,

Currently in the process of bringing up a new Unity 11.5 box. Got it tied to AD and our local exchange server. I was able to follow documentation on how to setup missed call notifications. I see you can customize that template to your liking.

I don't see anywhere to customize the voice message notification. Apparently this is different then the missed call notification.

I get the notification with the attached wav file of the voicemail recording but the body of the message is blank. I'd like to add some custom touches to it such as the link to https://unityip/inbox I've dug through the menus and docs but couldn't find anything. Thoughts?

you should be able to create a custom HTLM template to send out notifications with the customization you want here -

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/11x/user/guide/email/11xcucugemailx/11xcucugemail055.pdf

Found a "Voicemail message with summary" template built in - I set the HTML notification device to that and enabled it. With some massaging that will work. However, now I get two notifications. The default blank one with just the wav attachment and then the new one triggered by this template.

I've disabled all notification devices and still get the default email notification. Hmm...

What are you considering the default, the WAV file or the NOtification device?

Message Relay (WAV file) and Notification are different things.

What I'm calling the default is what I get with all notification devices off - a zero content email except for an attached wav of the message.

I just checked - under message actions, voicemail email and fax were set to accept, and receipt was "accept and relay" - I changed receipt to accept only as well and I still get the default.

Ok... I think I understand why this is happening. I have the one synchronized inbox with exchange checked. This makes it so when a message arrives in unity it gets synched to exchange. I like this because if a message is deleted in exchange it's also deleted in unity. If I turn one inbox off, I stop getting the relay.

Problem with turning it off means users have to delete a message twice, once in outlook and once in unity.

Unless I can find a way to edit the relay message, leaving it on means getting the relayed message and also the custom notification. That can be confusing to a user. I guess ultimately one doesn't need the attachment in outlook at all since if they click the link to get redirected to http://unitylocalip/inbox they can still play the message on the computer.
