Unity Connection 8.5 changing phonesystem for user (MWI not working)

Anees Ur Rehman

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is any way I can change PhoneSystem on "Edit User Basics" page as I have two PhoneSystems because I recently added another CUCM cluster and load shared half of the users. Now the moved users are still configured with old cluster's PhoneSystem and WMI is not working on those users. Is this possible to change PhoneSystem without deleting VM box?

Thanks,

Anees..

Hi Anees,

We are not using LDAP so that may be the difference here Just to clarify,

you did create multiple phone system integrations as shown here?

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/integration/guide/multiple_integration/cuc8xintmultiple.pdf

Perhaps we need to look at the LDAP section of the integration to see what can be done here;

Cheers!

Hi Anees,

Yes, this is most possible

We have two separate Phone system integrations as well and have many users

that move between them at times. Like you nicely noted, when they move we just change

the Phone System setting and they are good to go!

Cheers!

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the reply;

Unfortunately phonesystem option is grayed out (disabled) for me on "Edit User Basics" page. How exactly you are changing PhoneSystem setting? Please note that I have imported users from CUCM and CUCM is integreted with LDAP. Now when I import new user I can easily select PhoneSystem by selecting respective users template but can't do anything with old users.

Thanks,

Anees..

Hi Rob, Good day!

My problem is resolved using BAT;

I exported "Users with Mailbox" and replaced two columns "MWIMediaSwitchDisplayName" and "MediaSwitchDisplayName" with my appropriate PhoneSystem for affected users. Update back CSV file in Unity Connection using BAT tool and the problem solved.

Thank you so much your help, I see you around :-)
